About Me
Hi, I’m Lena, a programming student from Belgium with a strong interest in technology, creativity, and building digital experiences that feel clear, calm, and welcoming.
This page gives you a closer look at who I am, my educational background, and the interests that inspire me both inside and outside of coding.
A quick introduction
I am 23 years old and I have lived my whole life in a small village just above Antwerp. Ever since I was young, I have been drawn to both creativity and adventure. Whether it was music school, sports, games, or technology, I always enjoyed learning new things and exploring different interests.
Today, that same curiosity is what drives me in programming. I enjoy turning ideas into something real, structured, and useful while continuing to grow as a developer and as a person.
Who I Am
Technology has always had a special place in my life. I was the person who wanted to try the newest games, discover new devices, and understand how digital things worked. That interest eventually grew into a deeper love for programming.
At the same time, I care a lot about the people around me. I still live with my parents, which means we can easily enjoy spontaneous moments together, like going on holiday, planning a fun day out, or simply spending quality time as a family. Those moments give me energy and balance.
What Matters to Me
I value creativity, calm design, and meaningful progress. I like creating work that feels approachable and well-organised, whether that is a website, a user interface, or a personal project.
I also enjoy learning step by step. For me, growth comes from staying curious, being patient with the process, and continuing to build on every experience.
Education
Programming
I am currently studying Programming at Thomas More University of Applied Sciences, where I am building a strong foundation in web development and software development.
ICT & Administration
I proudly earned a diploma in ICT and Administration at CVO in Antwerp, graduating with distinction. That combination of organisation and technology still influences the way I work today.
Music Theory
In my younger years, I also earned a diploma in music theory. It taught me discipline, patience, and the importance of working toward goals with care and passion.
Skills
These are the technologies, tools, and methods I currently work with across development, databases, workflow, testing, and systems.
Frontend
Building structured and responsive interfaces.
Programming & Backend
Working with backend concepts, development tools, and application structure.
Databases & Data
Querying, modelling, and working with different kinds of data platforms.
DevOps & Workflow
Tools and ways of working that support collaboration and delivery.
Testing & Quality
Approaches and tools I use for quality, tracking, and test automation.
Systems & Security
Operating systems and security-related tools I have worked with.
Languages
Learning languages has always been one of my favourite interests. Besides Dutch, I speak French and fluent English. My connection to French started with my grandmother, who is Walloon and introduced me to the language and culture from a young age.
English has also always felt natural to me because so much of what I read, watch, and explore is in English. That is one of the reasons creating this page in English feels like a good fit.
Interests & Motivation
Because I enjoy learning languages so much, programming languages feel like a natural extension of that passion. To me, coding is another form of communication and problem-solving, and I love how it allows me to create something both functional and meaningful.
Outside of coding, I enjoy family time, discovering new experiences, and finding inspiration in both technology and everyday life. Those experiences help shape the way I think, design, and create.
